About this fabric

This colourway reads as a muted soft grey with warm taupe undertones, broken up by fine linear striations that catch the light differently across the weave. The pattern has a compact, stepped geometry that feels ordered rather than bold, making the surface appear richly detailed from close range. Woven in 60% viscose, 25% cotton, 8% linen and 7% polyester, it has a tactile, slightly slubbed handle that suits a decorative textile with body. The fabric is approximately 144cm wide, with a vertical repeat of about 20cm and a horizontal repeat of about 36cm, and it carries a √BM fire code.

How to use it

Use Marzac Gris for an upholstered chair, ottoman or headboard where the soft grey tone can sit alongside oak, stone and brushed metal. It would also make elegant curtains in a neutral scheme, where the understated texture can add depth without overpowering the room.

A quietly structured grey that works well on tailored upholstery or refined drapery.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Marzac Gris without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
