Marzac Ciel

Malou Fabric04885-12

Marzac Ciel is a cool, layered blue with a softly striated surface that gives the cloth a calm, tailored look. The weave reads tonal rather than shiny, with darker navy notes sitting beneath lighter slate-blue flecks.

About this fabric

This fabric has a distinctive small-scale horizontal texture that creates subtle movement across the surface, echoing the repeat of V 20cm / H 36cm approx. The colourway is a deep denim blue with cooler navy undertones and occasional lighter blue highlights that catch the light. Woven in 60% viscose, 25% cotton, 8% linen and 7% polyester, it has a refined handle suited to both decorative upholstery and drapery applications. At approximately 144cm wide, it offers practical coverage for larger upholstery projects as well as full-length curtains, while the √BM fire code is a useful specification for contract-minded interiors.

How to use it

Use Marzac Ciel on an armchair, banquette or Roman blind where its dark blue ground can bring structure without feeling flat. It works especially well with pale oak, chalk white and brushed metal finishes, which lift the cooler denim tone.

A cool, textured blue that suits tailored upholstery or elegant curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
