Malou Fabric04885-07

Marzac Taupe shows a finely striated, pebble-like surface in warm taupe and mushroom brown. The small-scale pattern reads as softly architectural rather than bold.

About this fabric

Marzac Taupe from the Malou collection by Manuel Canovas is a fabric with a subtle all-over repeat, measuring approximately V 20cm and H 36cm, on a width of about 144cm. Its composition of 60% viscose, 25% cotton, 8% linen and 7% polyester gives the swatch a lightly lustrous, textile-rich look rather than a flat matte finish. In this colourway, the taupe ground is lifted by pale beige threads and deepened by darker brown accents, creating a dry, woven contrast that feels warm and grounded. The small horizontal breaks in the design add movement without making the surface busy, so it can sit comfortably in both upholstery and drapery settings. Care code Q 8 < T 3 and fire code √BM are supplied for this exact fabric.

How to use it

Use it where you want texture more than pattern: on a tailored chair, a soft blind or full-length curtains in a room with walnut, clay or stone tones. The muted taupe pairs especially well with chalky neutrals and darker timber finishes.

A quietly textured taupe that layers easily with oak, linen and deeper brown accents.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Marzac Taupe without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
