About this fabric

The pattern is tightly distributed across the cloth, with ivory, curling shapes breaking up the ochre ground in an almost mineral or weathered arrangement. Subtle variation within the gold tone keeps it from reading as flat yellow, instead giving the colour a mellow, earthy warmth. The visible surface has a soft woven texture, and the contrast between the pale motif and darker ground makes the design feel considered rather than stark. This is catalogued as a fabric; no composition, width, rub test or performance specification has been supplied for this colourway.

How to use it

Use Mordore to warm an otherwise pale room, pairing its ochre-gold ground with chalky whites, warm stone and aged timber. The dense ivory motif can add visual interest to a plain chair, headboard or full-length curtain without introducing a bright accent colour.

Use the warm ochre ground to bring depth to neutral upholstery, curtains or layered schemes.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
