About this fabric

Catalogued as a fabric, Tobago - Encre has a visibly substantial woven surface with raised, looped fibres that create pronounced horizontal texture. The colour shifts between dark inky blue, smoky blue-grey and chalky white, with the uneven yarns softening the contrast. Broad horizontal bands are broken by smaller flecks and irregular marks, giving the stripe a relaxed, handcrafted character. The dense-looking construction makes this colourway particularly well suited to upholstery where its tactile surface can be seen at close range.

How to use it

Use Tobago - Encre on a generously shaped armchair, headboard or sofa to introduce cool ink-blue depth without making the room feel uniformly dark. Balance its horizontal striping with pale timber, chalky walls and soft grey-blue accents.

A substantial, tactile stripe that brings cool ink-blue depth and informal texture to upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
