About this fabric

This plain velvet has a dark green ground with mottled tonal movement, ranging from near-black green in the shadowed areas to softer mossy highlights. The plush surface absorbs light in some directions and releases a muted sheen in others, giving the colour a rich, layered appearance without a printed motif. Composed of 24% cotton and 76% polyester, it is approximately 137cm wide and specified for curtains and fixed upholstery. Its Contract and General Domestic upholstery grades make it suitable for upholstered seating as well as dramatic window treatments.

How to use it

Use this bottle-green colourway on a reading chair, sofa or headboard where its deep tone can anchor a room, pairing it with warm timber, aged brass or softened neutrals. On curtains, the velvet pile will bring extra depth to darker schemes while its green undertone remains more natural than blue-black.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
