M551 Indigo

Shibu Fabric

M551 Indigo is a deep, cool indigo textile with a tightly drawn vertical texture. Fine blue-grey lines run continuously through the surface, giving the colour a subtly striated depth rather than a flat navy appearance.

About this fabric

The close-up shows narrow, irregular vertical ribs in layered indigo, slate and blue-grey tones, with tiny lighter threads catching across the weave. Its dense linear texture gives the fabric a composed, tactile character without introducing a separate motif or repeat. The cool colouring reads ink-dark in the deeper channels and softer where the raised threads reflect light. No composition, width or performance features have been supplied for this exact SKU, so the visible weave is the clearest guide to its character.

How to use it

Use M551 Indigo to add cool, inky depth to a room, particularly on a structured chair, ottoman or relaxed curtain. Balance its blue-grey ribbing with chalky neutrals, pale timber or brushed metal so the fine vertical texture remains visible.

A cool, finely ribbed indigo textile that brings depth and quiet structure to upholstery or window treatments.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
