About this fabric
The colour reads as a pale flax beige, warmer than a cool stone neutral and subtly shaded where the cloth folds. Large, uneven rectangular forms are picked out with narrow, textured embroidery in taupe-grey and muted brown, giving the pattern an understated hand-worked character. A fine, even weave remains visible across the ground, while the raised stitched lines catch the light more distinctly. No composition, width, rub-test or other performance specification is supplied for this listing.
How to use it
Use M656 Flax on relaxed seating, Roman blinds or curtains where its warm natural tone can sit alongside oat, parchment, chalk and light timber. Keep surrounding patterns restrained so the irregular embroidered grid remains the detail in focus.
Pair this warm flax-beige ground with natural timber, chalky neutrals and softly weathered finishes.

Pairs well with
A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside M656 Flax without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.
Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
