About this colour

This shade reads as a warm brown with a soft greyed undertone, so it feels settled rather than reddish or yellow. On interior walls and ceilings in Signature Emulsion Paint, it absorbs a fair amount of light and gives a room a calm, enclosed feel. In north-facing light it can look cooler and more stony, with the grey in it becoming more apparent. In south-facing rooms it warms up and shows a richer, soil-like depth, especially beside natural oak, aged leather, mushroom linen and darker painted woodwork. It works well where you want the walls to sit close to the furniture rather than compete with it.

How to use it

Use it in a study, snug or dining room where brown walls can give the space weight and comfort. It sits neatly with walnut, dark-stained joinery, camel upholstery and muted green or rust textiles.
