This shade sits in the red family but leans muted and warm, with #A36C57 giving it a clay-brown softness rather than a clear primary red. It absorbs more light than it reflects, so it can make a room feel closer and more settled, especially on larger wall areas. In north-facing rooms it will read deeper, browner and quieter, sometimes almost terracotta in tone. In south-facing light it lifts to a warmer, richer red-brown, showing more of its underlying warmth beside natural wood, aged brass, oatmeal linens and darker painted joinery.
