Misc Fabric

This colourway layers rust red and deep teal through a dark charcoal ground, with ochre and pale lines sharpening the checked pattern. Its closely woven, softly brushed-looking surface gives the plaid a substantial, tactile presence.

About this fabric

The pattern is a broad, irregular plaid built from intersecting rust, brick-red, teal, ochre and charcoal bands. Deep teal blocks bring a cool, smoky note, while the rust and ochre areas add warmth without making the colourway feel bright. Fine pale lines cut through the larger checks, creating extra definition across the design. The visible diagonal yarn texture gives the fabric a dense, tactile finish and softens the edges of the woven pattern.

How to use it

Use the smoky teal and charcoal checks on a relaxed armchair, ottoman or sofa, pairing them with dark timber and warm leather to draw out the rust and ochre threads. The scale also suits cushions or a tailored seat where the intersecting lines can remain clearly visible.

A richly coloured, tactile plaid with substantial visual depth for relaxed upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
