Misc Fabric

Spectrum – Northumberland presents a near-blackened burgundy red with subtle wine-coloured variation across its surface. Its compact, softly fuzzy texture gives the plain colour a quiet depth rather than a flat appearance.

About this fabric

This colourway is a very dark burgundy red, with cooler plum depth in the shaded areas and warmer wine highlights where the surface catches the light. The close, softly napped texture creates low-contrast mottling rather than a visible printed motif, adding tactile interest to the plain ground. No composition, width or rub-test figures are supplied for this fabric, so the dense, substantial-looking surface visible in the swatch is the clearest guide; it reads most naturally as an upholstery textile.

How to use it

Use Northumberland on a statement armchair, sofa or dining seat where its dark wine tone can act as a rich anchor. Pair it with aged timber, smoked finishes or warm neutral upholstery to keep the deep burgundy from feeling overly stark.

Use this deep wine tone to bring plush, understated depth to upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
