Cubis Fabric

Scala Quail pairs a soft cream ground with repeating stepped chevrons in muted taupe and cool grey. The closely patterned surface has a crisp, orderly look while retaining the tactile character of a woven textile.

About this fabric

The design is built from interlocking V-shaped bands, creating a rhythmic zigzag across the full width of the swatch. Cream dominates the ground, with warm taupe and cooler grey lines giving the pattern gentle tonal depth rather than a high-contrast black-and-white effect. The visible weave slightly softens the edges of the geometric motif, keeping the overall impression considered and smart. With its substantial-looking woven appearance, this fabric is suited to upholstery and drapery applications.

How to use it

Use Scala Quail to brighten a neutral room with its cream base, then echo the muted taupe and grey in plain cushions, painted timber or soft furnishings. Its repeated chevron rhythm works particularly well on a clean-lined chair, bench or full-length curtain.

Use the cream ground to keep the scheme light, while the taupe-grey chevrons add a precise graphic accent to upholstery or curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
