Oakham Embroidery Wheat

Oakham Fabrics FabricSCF0142-04

Oakham Embroidery Wheat brings a warm, muted wheat-olive ground to the swatch, crossed by crisp cream verticals and undulating scalloped edges. Its evenly spaced linear layout gives the cloth a measured rhythm, while the textile surface keeps the contrast softly tactile.

About this fabric

The design alternates narrow olive-wheat bands with cream stripes edged by a repeated scalloped motif, creating a distinctive vertical pattern with gentle movement. At 325 gsm and 35 threads per cm, the cloth has a substantial, closely made feel suitable for both upholstery and drapery. Its usable width is 139.5 cm, with a 12 cm vertical repeat and 22.5 cm horizontal repeat. The warm, slightly earthy colourway reads softer than a bright yellow, with the cream detailing lifting the olive tone.

How to use it

Use this warm wheat-olive colourway to bring softness to a reading chair, upholstered bench or relaxed curtain scheme, particularly alongside natural timber, chalky walls and woven accessories. The vertical stripes can also give simple furniture a gentle sense of height.

A warm wheat-olive striped textile with cream scalloped lines, suited to upholstery, blinds and relaxed curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Oakham Embroidery Wheat without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
