About this fabric

The design is made up of tiny radiating floral sprigs and individual flecks, distributed across the cream background in softly varied rust and terracotta shades. This warm colourway has a gently muted, earthy character rather than a bright red-orange appearance, with the pale ground allowing the pattern to catch the eye without becoming dense. The vertical pattern repeat is 31.7 cm and the horizontal repeat is 45.7 cm, giving the small-scale motif a consistent rhythm across the cloth. At 211 gsm and 137.2 cm usable width, Cara Spice is a versatile mid-weight fabric suited to both upholstery and drapery.

How to use it

Bring Cara Spice into relaxed sitting rooms, breakfast areas or bedrooms where its warm terracotta flecks can echo timber, rattan, ochre and soft cream furnishings. Its small repeat is especially useful on cushions, occasional chairs and curtains where a detailed pattern is wanted without overpowering the room.

Use the warm spice-and-cream floral as a softly patterned upholstery or curtain fabric alongside natural woods, linen and warm neutrals.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Cara Spice without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
