Arboretum Fabrics FabricSAF0405-01

Sycamore and Oak Botanical Green brings a lively canopy of layered leaves across a soft cream ground. The design reads fresh and airy, with enough detail to make the repeat feel generous rather than busy.

About this fabric

This fabric has a 137 cm usable width and a substantial 236 gsm handle, which gives the printed surface a pleasing body for loose upholstery or lined drapery. The large pattern repeat of 91.3 cm vertically and 68.6 cm horizontally supports the wandering botanical layout visible in the image, where maple-like leaves, fine trailing stems and small scattered flowers are placed across the cloth. The colourway is distinctly springlike: several shades of green sit over a warm ivory base, from soft leaf green to deeper forest tones, with tiny touches of lilac, pale blue and blush adding lift. The overall effect is crisp and natural rather than dark, so the pattern keeps its detail even from a distance. With 74.1 threads per cm, the cloth appears tightly woven and neatly printed, suiting a decorative scheme that still needs a refined finish.

How to use it

Use it for curtains, occasional chairs or a statement headboard where the cream ground can brighten the room. It pairs well with oak, painted sage and soft white trim, letting the green foliage remain the focus.

Use with natural timber and pale painted finishes to keep the leafy pattern feeling fresh.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Sycamore and Oak Botanical Green without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
