About this fabric

This Sanderson One Sixty Fabrics textile has a substantial 432 gsm weight and a usable width of 135 cm, so it sits comfortably in the mid-to-heavier upholstery category while still working for decorative drapery. The pattern repeat is 48 cm vertical and 67 cm horizontal, which suits the bold, climbing layout of the hollyhock stems shown here. On the fabric itself, the petrol-blue background reads as cool and slightly softened rather than bright, allowing the pink, cream and yellow blossoms to stand out vividly without looking harsh. The 67 threads per cm specification supports the crisp detail visible in the leaves and layered petals.

How to use it

Pair this colourway with painted wood, pale oak or chalky neutrals to let the blue ground stay fresh and the floral colours feel airy. It works especially well as a statement armchair fabric or full-length curtains in a room with vintage or country character.

Use it to bring a painterly, garden-rich statement to upholstery or relaxed curtains.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Hollyhocks Petrol Blue/Multi without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
