Abingdon Fabric

Abingdon Indigo has a cool, shadowed blue ground softened by taupe and stone-coloured patterning. Its distressed ornamental surface brings an aged, layered quality to the swatch.

About this fabric

Across the swatch, a cool indigo-blue ground is broken by taupe and stone-coloured tracery, giving the pattern a softened, weathered contrast. Repeated medallion-like blooms, curling leaves and small geometric marks form a dense all-over design, while the fine horizontal texture keeps the surface tactile rather than flat. The dark blue threads give this colourway depth, but the pale rubbed-looking details stop it reading as stark navy. No composition, width, rub-test or other performance figures are supplied for this exact fabric, so those details should be confirmed before ordering.

How to use it

Use Abingdon Indigo on a traditional armchair, dining chair or upholstered bench where its cool blue depth can anchor a room. Balance the weathered indigo and taupe with warm timber, aged metal and quietly textured neutral furnishings.

A distressed indigo-and-taupe ornamental weave for characterful upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
