About this fabric

The close-up shows a small-scale, irregular crossweave rather than a printed motif, giving the cloth a gently tactile appearance. Its fallow taupe colouring sits between beige and grey, with darker threads adding quiet depth through the creases. Light catches the raised weave unevenly, creating a softly mottled finish instead of a flat, uniform surface. The fabric gathers into rounded ripples, suggesting a supple construction that can work across both upholstery and drapery applications.

How to use it

Use Astol Fallow to bring a warm, grounded taupe note to a calm sitting room, particularly on an occasional chair, loose cushion or full-length curtain. Pair it with chalky creams, weathered timber and soft grey-browns to echo the colour variation in its weave.

Its warm taupe tone and softly rippled weave suit relaxed upholstery, cushions and naturally draped window treatments.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
