Durham Fabric

Durham Charcoal is a deep, cool charcoal-grey textile with a near-black depth in the darker areas of the swatch. Its fine woven texture creates a restrained crosshatched surface, with tiny variations catching the light softly.

About this fabric

The close, even weave gives this colourway a compact, structured appearance rather than a fluid or lustrous one. Cool charcoal threads create subtle tonal movement across the surface, keeping the dark shade from reading as completely flat black. The supplied record notes no performance features, and no composition, width or rub-test figure is provided for this fabric.

How to use it

Use Durham Charcoal to give a contemporary sofa, dining chair or headboard a grounded, tailored finish. Its cool dark tone works especially well with pale timber, brushed metal and softly contrasting grey or off-white textiles.

The dense, finely textured charcoal weave brings a tailored, architectural feel to upholstered seating.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
