Linnaeus Nightshade

Linnaeus Fabric

Linnaeus Nightshade is a densely composed botanical textile with a charcoal-black ground and an intricate spread of blue-green, cream and ochre foliage. Its dark base gives the lively leaf forms a cool, atmospheric depth.

About this fabric

Large overlapping leaves fill the design, combining deep teal and blue-green shapes with muted sage, pale cream and ochre-gold highlights. Fine contrasting vein lines give the foliage a drawn, embroidered-looking definition, while the dark ground keeps the overall effect dramatic rather than bright. A subtle textile grain is visible across the swatch, adding surface interest to the layered botanical arrangement. No composition, width, rub test or performance feature is supplied for this colourway.

How to use it

Use Nightshade on a statement armchair, headboard or occasional seating where its charcoal ground can anchor a room. Balance the cool blue-green foliage with warm timber, aged brass or soft cream upholstery accents.

The charcoal ground lets the blue-green, cream and ochre foliage bring depth to statement upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
