Malabar Fabric

Malabar Aegean is a deep charcoal-grey fabric with a quiet, plain surface and a soft fluidity visible in the gathered folds of the swatch. Its cool, low-key tone reads as refined rather than stark.

About this fabric

The colour sits between graphite and charcoal, with gentle tonal variation where the cloth turns into shadow and catches the light. A very fine surface texture is visible across the plain ground, giving the solid shade more depth without introducing a motif. The swatch falls into supple, elongated folds, making this colourway particularly suited to drapery applications.

How to use it

Use Malabar Aegean for floor-length curtains in a contemporary or tailored room, pairing its cool charcoal tone with pale stone, warm timber or brushed metal. The understated surface also works well as a calm backdrop to stronger accent colours.

Use this deep charcoal grey for full-length curtains or relaxed Roman blinds, where its fluid folds and quiet texture can show clearly.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
