Shoyi Fabric01

Shoyi 01 Sienna combines a pale ivory ground with warm sienna and ochre forms, interrupted by smoky charcoal marks. Its irregular vertical pattern has a tactile, pebbled woven appearance that gives the colourway notable depth.

About this fabric

The design is built from loosely drawn, elongated organic shapes, with ochre and sienna concentrated through the upper areas and softer grey-charcoal strokes extending down the cloth. Pale ivory remains visible between the marks, keeping this earthy colourway light despite its substantial pattern. The surface has a strongly textured, broken-weave look, so the changing pile and shadows add further variation across the abstract motif. This is a visually expressive fabric suited to upholstery where its warm, weathered palette can be appreciated at close range.

How to use it

Use 01 Sienna on an occasional chair, headboard or statement sofa, pairing its warm sienna and ochre with natural timber, ivory linen and charcoal-painted accents. Keep surrounding patterns restrained so the large painterly forms remain the room’s main textural feature.

A richly textured, painterly upholstery fabric balancing warm sienna and ochre with pale ivory and charcoal accents.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
