Spun Silk Empire Grey

Spun Silk Empire Grey presents a pale, cool grey wallcovering with closely layered horizontal striations. Its fine linear texture shifts subtly between silvery grey and softer ivory-grey as the surface catches the light.

About this wallpaper

The visible design is an all-over horizontal texture rather than a repeating motif, giving the wall a calm, finely drawn grain. This Zoffany wallpaper has a 68.6 cm usable width and a standard length of 10.05 m, with both vertical and horizontal pattern repeats recorded as 0 cm. At 446 gsm, it has a substantial specification while retaining the delicate, understated appearance seen in the image. The cool grey colourway feels airy and controlled, with enough tonal variation in the fine lines to avoid looking flat.

How to use it

Pair this pale cool grey with chalky whites, brushed metal and light oak for a quiet contemporary scheme, or use it to temper stronger charcoal and blue-grey furnishings. The horizontal striation can provide a gentle textural backdrop in bedrooms, studies and refined living spaces.

Use this softly striated cool grey on walls where a quiet, lightly reflective backdrop will complement tailored furnishings and brighter accents.

Pairs well with

Spun Silk Empire Grey is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
