Boscombe Soot

Archive Collection FabricBOSCOMBE COL 4

Boscombe Soot is defined by a deep soot-black ground, layered with charcoal-grey foliage, warm cream details and sharp olive-green accents. Its symmetrical botanical layout gives the swatch a distinctly ornamental, almost archival character.

About this fabric

A tall central floral motif rises through the design, framed by curling branches, rounded olive-green fruit forms and pale, stylised leaves. The lower section introduces large paisley-like botanical shapes, while fine black tracery and grey scrollwork create depth across the cream and charcoal areas. The contrast is dramatic but softened by the muted olive and warm grey tones, giving this colourway a darker, more collected feel than a bright botanical. No composition, width, rub test or performance feature has been supplied for this fabric.

How to use it

Use Boscombe Soot on a statement armchair, footstool or occasional upholstered piece where its charcoal ground can anchor a room. Balance the dark pattern with warm ivory, weathered grey and small touches of olive green rather than introducing competing strong colours.

Use this richly detailed charcoal colourway to bring depth and antique botanical character to upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
