About this fabric

This Clarke & Clarke Exotica 2 fabric is a substantial 374gsm textile with a usable width of 137cm, making it well suited to upholstery applications. Across the dark green ground, small leafy sprays overlap in emerald, teal, olive and charcoal, while amethyst-purple foliage gives the design its cool, shadowed character. Fine coral, pink and cream leaf accents lift the darker palette without losing its depth. The pattern repeats every 68.5cm vertically and horizontally, with a standard length of 25m for larger decorating schemes.

How to use it

Use Congo Amethyst/Emerald on a statement armchair, ottoman or occasional sofa where its dark emerald and amethyst tones can sit against warm timber, aged brass and quiet blush textiles. Keep surrounding surfaces relatively restrained so the layered foliage remains the room’s visual focus.

Use this richly shaded botanical for statement upholstery, pairing its emerald ground with warm wood and muted blush accents.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
