Madagascar Charcoal/Charteuse

Exotica FabricCCF0391-01

Madagascar Charcoal/Charteuse layers finely drawn ferns, stems and broad leaves across a softly mottled grey-beige ground. Chartreuse foliage catches the light against the deeper charcoal botanical outlines, giving this colourway a subdued, natural depth.

About this fabric

This 250gsm fabric has a 137cm usable width, a 40m standard length and a substantial 67cm vertical by 135cm horizontal pattern repeat. The close-up shows an intricate botanical composition, including feathery fern fronds, pointed leaves, rounded chartreuse foliage and dark charcoal stems. Its softly textured surface gives the pale ground a gently weathered appearance, while the restrained charcoal-and-chartreuse contrast keeps the large-scale design grounded rather than bright. The generous repeat allows the overlapping foliage to read as a continuous composition across wider applications.

How to use it

Use the cool charcoal outlines to anchor a neutral room, then pick up the muted chartreuse in cushions, painted timber or small accessories. The large repeat is especially effective on full-length drapery, while selected motifs can add character to occasional upholstery.

The muted charcoal and chartreuse foliage brings layered botanical depth to curtains, cushions and occasional upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
