About this fabric

Woven at 220 gsm, this mid-weight fabric has a compact plain construction with a subtle crosshatch effect visible across the charcoal ground. The colour reads as a dark charcoal grey, softened by tiny brown-grey and lighter threads that stop it appearing completely flat or black. Its 147 cm usable width makes it practical for both upholstery and drapery applications. With a 0 cm vertical and horizontal pattern repeat, the cloth can be cut without matching a design.

How to use it

Use this charcoal colourway to bring depth to a contemporary sofa, dining chair or upholstered headboard, pairing it with pale woods and warm neutrals to draw out the woven brown-grey flecks. It can also give curtains or cushions a calm, tailored finish without introducing a visible motif.

The deep charcoal tone and close woven texture suit tailored upholstery, cushions and softly structured window treatments.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
