Colefax and Fowler

Melrose Forest/Red

Marius FabricF4843-02

Melrose Forest/Red pairs a warm cream ground with a vertical botanical stripe in leafy green and small red sprigs. The design feels airy but detailed, with the pattern sitting clearly against the pale background.

About this fabric

This fabric from Colefax and Fowler’s Marius collection is composed of 63% linen, 28% viscose and 9% polyester, and it comes in a width of approximately 129cm. The repeat is approximately V 40cm / H 43cm, which gives the trailing stripe a measured, regular rhythm across the cloth. Visually, the cream ground keeps the palette light, while the forest-toned leaves and red berry-like accents add a crisp, slightly country-house character. The woven surface reads as a refined textile rather than a flat print, with enough body to suit both upholstery and drapery applications.

How to use it

Use it where you want pattern with a lighter touch: a pair of curtains, a tailored chair, or cushions against painted joinery. The cream background and fresh green make it especially effective in rooms with natural wood, stone, or soft sage accents.

A fresh botanical stripe that brings colour without overwhelming a room.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
