Blues Paint
Lie-in is a soft, greyed blue from Coat Paints that feels calm and settled rather than bright. It sits in the Blues range with enough grey in it to make it easy to live with on walls and woodwork.

About this colour
This shade reads as a cool blue with a clear grey note, so it lifts a room without feeling sharp or icy. In north-facing light it can look more misty and restrained, with the grey showing more strongly. In south-facing light it opens up a little and the blue becomes cleaner and more open while still staying muted. It works well beside pale oak, painted joinery and upholstery in chalky neutrals, denim tones and softened greens, especially in finishes like Flat Matt, Eggshell or Soft Sheen.
How to use it
Use Lie-in in a bedroom, sitting room or hallway where you want a quiet backdrop for timber furniture and fitted joinery. It sits neatly with linen, wool and velvet in stone, ink blue and soft sage, and also suits white or off-white woodwork.
A muted blue like this gives walls a calm, airy feel without going cold.
