About this colour
At #3D5058, The Drink reads as a muted blue-grey with a cool edge and just enough softness to keep it from feeling hard. It absorbs a good amount of light, so it will look richer and more enclosed on larger wall areas, especially in low light. In a north-facing room it can turn more slate-like and restrained, while in south-facing light the blue comes forward and the grey-green undertone becomes easier to see. In Flat Matt it will look deepest and most velvety; in Eggshell and Soft Sheen it suits trim, panelled woodwork and cabinetry where you want a little more reflection. Its tonal depth sits well beside oak, walnut, chalky off-whites, deep greens and upholstery in oatmeal, camel or muted navy.
How to use it
Use The Drink in a study, sitting room or hallway where you want walls to feel enclosed and tailored. It works especially well with painted skirting, window frames and built-in joinery, and it gives a strong backdrop to linen, wool and leather upholstery.
On a wall, The Drink is a deep blue-grey that feels calm and architectural.
