#385367 reads as a cool blue with enough grey in it to hold back any glare, so it takes on a calm, muted presence on a wall. In north-facing light it can look a little duskier and more steel-toned, while in south-facing rooms the blue comes forward more clearly without losing its restraint. Flat Matt will keep it quietly absorbing, while Eggshell and Soft Sheen will give it a cleaner, more defined edge on joinery. It sits well beside oatmeal, taupe, ink, walnut and dark oak, and it also works neatly with upholstery in chalky neutrals, navy, tobacco or muted teal.

Use it in a sitting room, study or hallway where you want depth without heaviness. It is particularly good with painted skirting, paneled walls, turned wood furniture and upholstery in natural linen, mohair or deep brown leather.
