About this colour
In this shade, #C4DAD8 reads as a light, slightly muted blue with a gentle green cast, so it lifts a room without turning stark. On walls, it reflects plenty of light while still holding enough colour to feel considered rather than blank. In a north-facing room it will lean a little cooler and more misted, while in south light the green side becomes clearer and it feels breezier. It works well beside natural oak, painted joinery in off-white, and upholstery in sand, flax, chalky grey or deeper navy. In Flat Matt or Flat Matt Claypaint it will look softer and more powdery, while Eggshell, Soft Sheen, Floor Paint and Exterior will give the same colour a neater, more practical finish for woodwork and other surfaces.
How to use it
Free Range suits bedrooms, bathrooms and quiet sitting rooms where a pale colour needs to feel restful rather than icy. It sits neatly with bleached woods, pale linen tones and deeper blues in curtains or upholstery.
A light blue-green like this brings a room a clear, calm feel without making it cold.
