Mademoiselle Opera
Satin fabrics Fabric034
Mademoiselle Opera is shown here in a deep ruby red, with the smooth face catching light gently across the surface. Its plain appearance is enriched by fine horizontal texturing and a darker, wine-like depth towards the lower edge.

About this fabric
This Dedar satin fabric has a rich ruby-red tone that shifts from brighter crimson at the upper face to a deeper burgundy shade where the light falls more softly. The surface appears finely grained rather than completely flat, with delicate horizontal lines visible across the swatch. A restrained satin sheen gives the colour a softly polished, theatrical character without introducing a pattern. As a fine, fluid-looking textile, it is best considered for drapery rather than heavy-duty upholstery.
How to use it
Use the deep ruby tone for full-length curtains in a dining room, bedroom or entertaining space, where its subtle sheen can catch evening light. Pair it with warm timber, dark lacquer or aged brass to emphasise the colour’s dramatic wine-red depth.
Use this deep ruby satin to bring theatrical warmth and a softly reflective finish to curtains or upholstered accents.

Pairs well with
Mademoiselle Opera is a quiet cloth, so it carries a pattern beside it: one of these on the curtains and this on the chair. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it
Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
