Malese Red

Fabrics Fabric98

Malese Red pairs a deep, warm red with a soft ivory ground in a strongly tactile woven pattern. Its repeated, brush-edged motifs give the swatch a lively ikat-like rhythm rather than a perfectly regular geometric finish.

About this fabric

The red reads as a rich crimson with burgundy depth, while the ivory ground keeps the overall colourway light enough to show the pattern clearly. Irregular rounded motifs are arranged in staggered rows, with feathered edges and visible vertical weave lines that make each shape feel slightly hand-rendered. The cloth has a substantial-looking, textured surface that appears versatile for both upholstery and drapery. No performance features, composition, width or rub-test data are noted in the supplied specification.

How to use it

Use Malese Red on a statement armchair or tailored curtains where its warm crimson motifs can sit against ivory, stone or dark timber. Keep surrounding patterns restrained so the staggered red forms remain the room’s visual focus.

Use the warm red-and-ivory weave to bring patterned depth to upholstery, cushions or full-length curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
