About this fabric

This Sanderson velvet has a usable width of 140 cm, a horizontal repeat of 70 cm, and a substantial weight of 570 gsm, making it feel built for upholstery rather than light drapery. The design shows a large-scale, painterly pattern with irregular vertical movement, where the ruby pile sits over much darker burgundy and plum shadows. In this colourway the red is saturated and theatrical, but not bright; it has a velvety depth that softens the overall effect and makes the surface look richer as the light shifts. With 79 threads per cm, the cloth reads dense and luxurious, with a pronounced plush texture visible throughout the swatch.

How to use it

Use Icaria Ruby on an upholstered armchair, banquette or ottoman to add warmth and drama to a scheme. It pairs especially well with dark woods, bronze metalwork and soft neutrals that let the ruby tone dominate.

Use for dramatic upholstery or statement cushions where the rich pile can catch the light.
