About this fabric

This velvet from Sanderson’s Icaria and Boho Velvets collection has a substantial 570 gsm weight and a usable width of 140 cm, making it well suited to hard-working upholstery. The fabric shows a dense, tactile pile with vertical streaks of darker brown running through a molten gold ground, creating a weathered, luxurious effect. With a horizontal pattern repeat of 70 cm and no vertical repeat, the design reads as boldly directional rather than tightly symmetrical. The overall tone is warm and antique, with the golden base softened by earthy shadowing that deepens in the folds and nap.

How to use it

Use this colourway on an occasional chair, ottoman or upholstered panel where the gold ground can glow against walnut, tobacco leather or deep green paint. It also brings warmth to rooms with low light, especially when paired with brass or aged bronze accents.

Adds a rich, smoky warmth to statement seating or a dramatic headboard.
