About this fabric

This velvet from Sanderson’s Dorton Velvets collection has a substantial 405 gsm weight and a usable width of 148 cm, making it well suited to upholstery projects. The surface appears smooth and densely piled, with a matte-to-slightly-lustrous finish that softens the golden colour. In this colourway, the tone sits between ochre and burnished amber, giving it a grounded, antique quality rather than a sharp yellow cast. With no pattern repeat and no noted performance finish, the interest comes entirely from the depth of the pile and the way the light shifts across the plain surface.

How to use it

Use it on an armchair, ottoman or dining seat where the warm gold can read as a refined accent without feeling brash. It also works beautifully beside dark timber, tobacco leather and creamy linens for a layered, collected look.
