About this fabric

From Sanderson’s Dorton Velvets collection, this velvet has a substantial 405gsm handle and a fine, densely packed surface that suits upholstery. The 148 cm usable width gives good cutting efficiency, while the plain 0 cm vertical and horizontal repeat makes it straightforward to pattern match. In this colourway, the reddish-brown base feels sunbaked rather than bright, with the velvet pile catching the light to reveal softer coppery notes. The result is a smart, grounded tone that feels richer than a simple brown and warmer than a classic rust.

How to use it

Use this auburn velvet on a sofa, banquette, or armchair where its warm depth can play against oak, walnut, linen and aged brass. It also works well for cushions in a room with cream walls, adding colour without becoming vivid.
