Malay Kiln Mud

Curios Wallcoverings WallpaperSAW0241-04

Malay Kiln Mud pairs a dusty kiln-terracotta ground with a fine cream lattice, creating a softly aged geometric wallcovering. Small pale dotted motifs sit within each square, adding detail without disturbing the pattern’s calm rhythm.

About this fabric

The warm, muted terracotta background gives this colourway a mellow earthen depth, while the narrow cream lines define an evenly spaced checked grid. Each square contains a small arrangement of pale dotted marks, making the close-up pattern feel quietly tactile and considered. This wallpaper has a usable width of 52 cm, a standard length of 10.05 m and a 52 cm vertical repeat. The supplied specification also records a 0 cm horizontal repeat and a weight of 130 gsm.

How to use it

Use the kiln-like terracotta tone to warm a study, dining room or hallway, pairing it with chalky creams, aged timber and softly brushed brass. The cream grid can also sit comfortably alongside restrained checks and plain textured upholstery.

Use this dusty terracotta grid to bring warm, ordered character to a study, hallway or dining space.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Malay Kiln Mud without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
