Matmi Kiln Mud

Curios Weaves FabricSAF0447-02

Matmi Kiln Mud pairs a tight geometric motif with a warm, clay-red ground that feels grounded and characterful. The small-scale repeat gives the design a crisp, rhythmic look across the cloth.

About this fabric

Woven at a substantial 470 gsm with a notably dense 110 threads per cm, this fabric has the substance and definition to hold its pattern clearly. The 136 cm usable width and 2.5 cm vertical and horizontal repeat make the small geometric motif read evenly and precisely across the surface. In this Kiln Mud colourway, the design sits in a muted terracotta red with softer beige relief, creating an earthy, timeworn effect rather than a bright red statement. The overall finish feels tactile and structured, with the pattern’s sharp outline adding movement to the warm ground.

How to use it

Use it on an accent chair, ottoman or dining seats where the small-scale motif can be appreciated up close. Its earthy red tone works well with oak, brushed brass and chalky neutrals for a smart, layered scheme.

A warm, earthy red that brings pattern without overpowering a room.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Matmi Kiln Mud without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
