About this fabric

This Sanderson velvet has a usable width of 140 cm and a substantial 765 gsm weight, which supports its clearly upholstered feel. The cloth reads as warm old gold with amber and ochre undertones, darkened by the shadow in the pile to create a muted, earthy depth. At 48 threads per cm, the surface looks tightly woven and fine in structure beneath the plush velvet finish. With no pattern repeat, it presents as a plain fabric, making the colour and texture the focus of the design.

How to use it

This old-gold shade works well on statement seating, especially when paired with walnut, bronze, or tobacco leather. It also brings a warm, mellow glow to a reading chair or ottoman in a room with deep green or charcoal accents.

Use with dark timber and deep neutrals to let the golden pile glow.
