About this fabric

This Sanderson Rue Linen colourway has a plain woven finish with no pattern repeat, so the interest comes from its textural linen surface rather than decoration. At 241 gsm and 84 threads per cm, it feels substantial enough for upholstery while still remaining versatile for curtains and soft furnishings. The saffron shade is muted rather than bright, sitting between golden ochre and dried wheat, with a gently earthy warmth that catches the light subtly across the weave. Its 139 cm usable width and 40 m standard length make it practical for both tailored seating and understated drapery.

How to use it

Use this saffron tone to warm up pale oak, aged brass and chalky neutrals, or pair it with olive and terracotta for a more layered, heritage feel. It works especially well where you want colour, but not glare.

A warm saffron tone that brings a soft, sunlit richness to upholstered pieces or relaxed curtains.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
