Faraday Velvet Celadon

Sanderson x Giles Deacon Faraday Velvets VelvetSAF0423-05

Faraday Velvet Celadon shows a honeyed gold velvet ground with a neat, linked lattice motif outlined in paler, slightly silvery lines. The pile gives the surface a mellow sheen that shifts softly as it catches the light.

About this fabric

This Sanderson x Giles Deacon velvet has a substantial 548gsm handle and a 137 cm usable width, which suits the rich, cushioned look visible in the swatch. The design repeats in a 10.3 cm vertical and 17.5 cm horizontal rhythm, creating a regular trellis of rounded lozenges across the cloth. In Celadon, the colour reads more like soft antique gold than bright yellow, with warm ochre notes and a gently faded finish that keeps it from feeling glossy or brash. The velvet pile adds depth inside each motif, while the lighter outlining gives the pattern crisp definition against the warmer ground.

How to use it

This shade works well on an accent chair or banquette where the gold tone can glow without overwhelming the room. Pair it with dark timber, parchment neutrals and aged brass for a layered, composed interior.

Use with walnut, linen and brushed brass for a warm, tailored scheme.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
