Faraday Velvet Atlantic

Sanderson x Giles Deacon Faraday Velvets VelvetSAF0423-12

Faraday Velvet Atlantic is a dark, moody velvet with a small geometric lattice that glows softly against its dense blue-green ground. The pile gives the surface a plush, directional sheen that lifts the pattern without making it flashy.

About this fabric

This Sanderson velvet has a substantial 548 gsm weight and a usable width of 137 cm, which gives it the body expected from a fabric suited to upholstery. The design shows a compact interlocking motif, with a pale outlined trellis sitting over a deep Atlantic teal-blue ground. In the pile, the colour reads cool and oceanic, with lighter highlights catching on the raised pattern and a slightly darker depth in the body of the velvet. The repeat is 10.3 cm vertically and 17.5 cm horizontally, creating a regular but not rigid rhythm across the cloth.

How to use it

The deep teal tone works beautifully on an armchair, ottoman or banquette where the velvet can pick up light from different angles. Pair it with warm woods, aged brass or soft ivory to keep the colour feeling rich rather than cold.

Use for tailored seating or cushions where the low-sheen velvet can show off its rich, moody colour.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
