Faraday Velvet Carmine

Sanderson x Giles Deacon Faraday Velvets VelvetSAF0423-14

Faraday Velvet Carmine is a richly saturated red velvet with a softly broken, light-catching pile. The linked geometric motif reads clearly across the surface, giving the colourway a bold but elegant rhythm.

About this fabric

This Sanderson x Giles Deacon velvet has a substantial 548 gsm handle and a usable width of 137 cm, which supports its confident, upholstery-led feel. The surface shows a deep carmine red with warmer crimson undertones, lifted by a slight sheen where the pile catches the light. A small geometric repeat of 10.3 cm vertically and 17.5 cm horizontally creates the tiled lattice effect visible across the swatch. At 175 threads per cm, the cloth looks densely woven and plush rather than flat, with the pale outline threads adding definition between each shape.

How to use it

Use this carmine colourway on an accent chair, ottoman or headboard to bring a saturated focal point into a room. It works especially well with walnut, brass and soft stone shades, which let the red feel luxurious rather than overpowering.

Pair with warm neutrals and dark wood for a richly tailored finish.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Faraday Velvet Carmine without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
