About this fabric

This Sanderson Home Fabrics cloth is a versatile 252gsm fabric with a usable width of 140 cm and a substantial 45 cm vertical by 70 cm horizontal repeat. The design reads as a climbing, branch-like trail, with slender grey stems and repeated leaf sprays that create a graceful vertical rhythm across the width. In this colourway, the ochre motif feels warm but muted rather than brash, while the slate leaves bring a cool, weathered balance against the light background. The small turquoise dots add a fresh, crisp note that keeps the overall effect from feeling too heavy or autumnal. At 38 threads per cm, the weave appears neatly detailed and well suited to either upholstery or drapery use.

How to use it

Use it to bring gentle pattern into a neutral room, especially alongside oak, putty, pebble and soft white finishes. The ochre and slate palette also sits well with seagrass textures and brushed metal accents.

Pair with pale oak and chalky neutrals to keep the ochre and slate motif feeling light and fresh.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Sea Kelp Ochre/Slate without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
