Sailor Gull

Sanderson Home Fabrics FabricSAF0269-01

Sailor Gull is a light, airy maritime print with sails and cloud forms floating across a pale gull-grey ground. The palette reads soft and weathered, with ivory, dove grey and a faint sandy accent keeping the design calm rather than crisp.

About this fabric

Sailor Gull from Sanderson Home Fabrics is a textile with a usable width of 140 cm and a substantial 252 gsm weight, making it a versatile decorative fabric. The 62 cm vertical repeat and 93 cm horizontal repeat support the large sailing-boat scene, which is laid out in a gentle all-over rhythm across the cloth. In this colourway, the base tone is a misty gull grey, softened by off-white sails and cloudy highlights, while the small touches of warm beige on the hull details stop it feeling cold. The overall surface looks lightly textured and relaxed, with the print sitting quietly rather than shouting for attention.

How to use it

Use this soft grey colourway to bring a coastal note to blinds, cushions or a bedroom chair without overpowering the room. It pairs especially well with bleached woods, chalky whites and other faded seaside neutrals.

A breezy coastal neutral that works beautifully on window dressings or occasional upholstery.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
