About this fabric

This Sanderson Home Fabrics textile is a substantial 385 gsm fabric with a 140 cm usable width, making it well suited to upholstery projects. The design is built from very fine vertical stripes, with a 0.7 cm horizontal repeat and no vertical repeat, which creates a disciplined, orderly rhythm across the cloth. In this Ebony colourway, the darkest stripes read as soft black rather than a hard gloss, while the lighter stripes sit in a warm ivory-beige tone that keeps the overall effect from feeling stark. With 19 threads per cm, the weave has a tactile, structured quality that suits furniture needing both visual definition and dependable body.

How to use it

Use Emiko Ebony on a dining chair, ottoman, or occasional armchair where the narrow stripe can bring height and direction to the silhouette. Its ebony-and-ivory contrast works especially well with walnut timber, painted charcoal finishes, and pale linen accessories.

A crisp monochrome stripe that gives tailored structure to seating or accent pieces.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
