Swallows Black

Sanderson One Sixty Wallpapers WallpaperSAW0006-05

Swallows Black sets softly illustrated birds against a deep charcoal-black ground, creating a dramatic, nocturnal impression. Sand, taupe and muted sage-green details give the flying swallows gentle definition without brightening the overall colourway.

About this fabric

The design shows several swallows in flight, their layered wings and long tail feathers picked out in subdued sand, beige, taupe and sage-green tones. Against the near-black ground, the pale bird forms appear to recede and emerge across the surface, giving the large-scale pattern a sense of movement and depth. This wallpaper is supplied at a usable width of 52 cm, with a 10.05 m standard roll length and a 76.2 cm vertical pattern repeat. At 148 gsm, it has a comparatively light paper specification suited to its printed, illustrative presentation.

How to use it

Use Swallows Black on a feature wall in a study, bedroom or intimate dining room, where its charcoal depth can sit alongside walnut, dark-painted joinery and warm metallic accents. Balance the shadowy ground with oatmeal upholstery or pale stone accessories that echo the birds’ muted sandy highlights.

Pair the deep charcoal ground with warm timber, aged brass and softly textured neutral furnishings.

Pairs well with

A pattern needs somewhere for the eye to rest, so these are the plains and textures that sit beside Swallows Black without fighting it. Mixed across the houses we hold, which is the part a single supplier's book cannot do.

Paint that goes with it

Two ways to take the room. Both colours are from houses we hold, so a pot can come off the same order as the cloth. Screens shift colour, so treat these as a direction and bring the cloth to the shelf before you buy the paint.
